Fiberglass

Fibre Tech supplies premium fiberglass reinforcements for repair, fabrication and production. Our fiberglass meets international quality standards and is available in any quantity from our factory and showroom. Manufactured from extruded glass filaments, our products deliver predictable performance, consistent handling and long-term durability for marine, industrial, automotive and consumer applications.

Types of Fiberglass

Fiberglass Fabrics

Close-up of woven fabric
Fiberglass Cloth
  • Precision-woven fabrics produced from continuous glass filaments. Available in 1.0oz, 1.50oz and 2.0oz.
  • Characteristics: Plain weave is stable, resists fraying and is easy to handle—ideal for flat or gently curved surfaces. Twill and satin weaves offer better drape and conformability for compound curves and smoother surface finishes. Satin weaves have longer float yarns for improved flexibility; twill shows a diagonal rib that enhances drape and stability.
  • Typical uses: Structural laminates, cosmetic outer layers and repairs where finish and conformity matter.
Woven fiberglass roving
Woven
  • Overview: Heavy, strong reinforcement made from bundled rovings woven into a fabric with yarns oriented in two principal directions.
  • Characteristics: High stiffness and strength for thick laminates; limited drape—better suited to flat or gently contoured panels.
  • Typical uses: Boat hulls, large molds and structural applications requiring high load capacity and thickness.
Carbon fiber weave
Carbon Fiber

High-strength, lightweight material with excellent stiffness and fatigue resistance but can be brittle under impact or shear. Conductive (needs electrical management), has low thermal expansion and good dimensional stability, and yields excellent surface finish with fine weaves and gelcoats. Best paired with epoxy or vinylester resins (polyester compatible but less ideal) for optimal adhesion and mechanical performance.

Fiberglass tissue
Tissue

Fiberglass tissue is a very light, strong cloth made from extremely thin glass fibers (3–13 µm). It’s made by melting sand, pulling out fine glass threads, and bonding them with a resin. It’s heat-resistant, strong, and used in many industrial and consumer products.

How It's Used

Usage and Applications

Fiberglass is a versatile composite material made from fine glass fibers embedded in a resin matrix. Its combination of high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion and heat resistance, electrical insulating (or conductive when desired) properties, and formability makes it ideal across many industries. Available in forms such as woven fabrics, chopped strand mat, rovings, tissue, and molded parts, fiberglass adapts to both structural and cosmetic roles. Common applications include:

  • Marine: hulls, decks, bulkheads, repair patches and structural reinforcements
  • Automotive: body panels, reinforcement, custom fabrications and repairs
  • Construction & infrastructure: cladding, gutters, ducting, tanks and molded components
  • Industrial: housings, panels, tooling and chemical-resistant linings
  • Manufacture & prototyping: molds, patterns, jigs and structural laminates
  • General repair and maintenance: patching, bonding, fairing and cosmetic refinishing
